I recently had a chance to try out the Worksharp 3000 in my shop. I was not looking for a new sharpening system more than I wanted to see if the Worksharp was indeed comparable to other systems like the Tormek. I also wanted to see if it truly sped up the process of sharpening my hand tools.
The Worksharp 3000 comes with several sharpening options and there are loads more you can purchase separately. It comes with 2 glass discs that take adhesive backed sandpaper, several sheets of various grit sandpaper, a slotted wheel for viewing your tools while sharpening, a tool rest, and an abrasive cleaner.
I needed to put this thing to the test and what better way than to use a 20 year old destroyed chisel from my grandfather.
I have used Worksharp's Knife and Tool Sharpener before I loved it. After seeing how it handles this chisel I am a firm believer in the Worksharp 3000. It would have taken a lot longer if I used traditional stones to completely re-hone this chisel.
I am not going to go in depth here about the system. If you want to know more than take a look at the above video.
