An outdoor entertaining space has been on our todo list for years, literally years. Since we owned our first house back in 2009 we have wanted that spot to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Since then we have had numerous outdoor spaces but none that were well pulled off or very comfortable. We moved to Rhode Island in 2019 and we have a lot of land that sits right on the water. It is our goal to make a truly inviting outdoor space to enjoy with friends and loved ones. We need to run things like electrical for lights, add tin sheets to the lower part of our deck to keep the rain from falling through the deck above, add a sunshade, furniture, and finally a TV. Well the TV took priority only because we downgraded houses and decided not to put TVs back in the kids rooms so we had an extra 42” TV so I teamed up with my friends of at Kreg Tool to create the plans and have them reside on their DIY Project Plan Website BuildSomething.com. I opted to use a pocket holes since the Kreg Foreman is super fast. When it came down to picking material I designed this to be built out of 1x8x8 cedar. Being an outdoor project it was a no brainer but to choose a wood that is great for outdoors.
